Transrapid
Transrapid International
Transrapid is the worlds most advanced high speed
ground transportation system, perfected over 25 years by the leaders of
German industry, in partnership with the German Government.
Thyssen Henschel, the developer of Transrapid, has been
building trains since 1848 and has supplied over 30,000 units world wide,
since then.
High speed wheel-on-rail systems have reached their
practical operating ceiling for high speed travel.
Transrapid was designed and developed to provide
centre to centre trip times that are equal to or better than air travel, for
distances up to 1400 km.

Transrapids advantages include:
-
Shortest possible trip times;
-
Lowest environmental impacts;
-
Greatest safety;
-
Reduced air pollution caused by alternative
modes;
-
